The Nonprofit Venture (Part 3 of 3)
Your nonprofit has grown nicely as you have hired some good employees and are starting to make a name for yourself within the community. Due to your having maintained so many contacts within Knightsville and your own experiences working with the city, you have had some informal discussions with a number of different city leaders about possible public-private partnership (PPP) opportunities and ventures.
With such a wealth of options at your disposal, it can be difficult to find the best place to start when deciding which opportunity to pursue! In determining how best to proceed, determine and convey the following:
- What local government department, organization, or entity would be the most appropriate for your nonprofit to partner with? What are some possible projects on which a PPP could collaborate?
- What are the three most important concerns that would need to be taken into consideration from both the city’s and the nonprofit’s perspectives when developing a PPP?
- What are three possible obstacles or complexities that could pose problems for the PPP? How might they be addressed?
Your paper must be at least five pages in length, but not more than six pages. All pages will be double-spaced. You must include at least three sources; you do not need to include the reading assignments, but, if you do, it does not count toward the three-source minimum. Be sure to cite and reference all borrowed, quoted, and paraphrased material appropriately in APA style.
The purpose of this assignment is to gauge your understanding of the content, so focus on writing original content rather than simply regurgitating the textbook or other sources, whether by paraphrasing or using direct quotes. Paraphrasing is acceptable, but try to keep paraphrasing to a minimum. A good rule of thumb is to use 80% of your own work and paraphrase 20% or less of the work of others.
