ALFA Insurance provides a one-year automobile insurance policy that may be renewed each year. For an automobile to be insured under a personal automobile policy (PAP) as a vehicle for pleasure, the average driving distance per day must be less than 25 miles. Today, people tend to live further away from their jobs. Because of this ALFA believes that these drivers are actually driving more than 25 miles per day on average. Below is the average daily driving distance for a random sample of 30 drives whose auto is insured as a vehicle of pleasure.

a. Construct a 90% confidence interval to estimate the population average daily driving distance for drivers whose auto is insured was a vehicle for pleasure? Interpret the interval you obtain.

b. Is there evidence to indicate that the average is actually greater than 25 miles per day?

c. O a separate issue, suppose the State of Florida would like to estimate the population average age of drivers in Florida who don't have insurance. They have decided to have the police randomly stop drivers, check for insurance, and if the don't have insurance they'll record their age ( and give them a ticket). How many drivers without insurance should be randomly selected to estimate the population mean with 99% confidence and a margin of error of 1 year? Use 6 years as an estimate of the standard deviation. Interpret your answer.
