Hello Classmates and Professor. Whenever one hear about for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals it sounds clear and obvious that the non-for profit hospitals will and probably give more charitable services to people. For a for-profit hospital to be in a community is number one service for the community, and even if it expensive it is there to save lives. It is way better to have a for-profit hospital in a community because they do provide the emergency care for anybody whether rich or poor under federal laws. In emergency moment they will save your life first and ask you to pay back little by little later. Briefly both for-profit and not-for-profit provide charitable services to their communities.For- profit hospitals are aiming business while non profit hospitals are aiming service( Cheney, 2016).
Now let’s talk about who gives more of charitable services to communities .
Not-for-profit Hospitals provides more charitable services to communities because their top and basic goal is to give charitable services to people who are underinsured or uninsured. By doing so, they really improve the health of their communities. What really make it easy for non-for profit hospitals is the government give them break on property taxes and income taxes. The fund and money they make is reinvested in the hospital need only. Most non-for profit hospitals are affiliated with religious organizations and most religions are for charity work. When it come to for -profits hospitals they have to pay taxes and income taxes, plus their goal is to make money for it investors. It is clear that for-profit hospitals are in business and want to make money so the only charitable services they give is when they feel like doing it or force by government rules to do it.Conclusion For profit : -Want to make money for it investors- Have to pay expensive taxes and income taxes making difficult for free service
Non-for profit :-Want to do charitable services Based On Churches Objectives.- Don’t pay property taxes because government help them.Reference Cheney. C.(2016). Healthleaders.
