What is Stefan Boltzmann law used for?

Stefan's law allows one to calculate the energy radiated per time (power) of an object.

Based on the object's surface area, its temperature, and surrounding temperature, Stefan's law calculate the energy per time (power) radiated by the object. Knowing how much heat (energy) is radiated by a human, for example helps understand how much a room might heat up when people are in it.
