What is the difference between meiosis 1 and 2?
In I, the number of the parent cell's chromosome is reduced into half while Meiosis II is undergoes division that is the same as
Meiosis I is also called as Reductional Division because after meiosis I the number of chromosomes is reduced from diploid to haploid (2n --> n) due to crossing over in meiosis I.
Meiosis II is also known as Equational Division because this division is analogous to mitosis. After meiosis II, four daughter cells with diploid number of chromosomes are produced.
