A mother develops certain environmental conditions to foster the competence and development of her children. Infants naturally get attached to their mother because strong attachment between a child and a mother serves as a main antecedent of the child’s development of interest in others and his/her development. Pines and Marron (2003) found that the quality of bond between a child and a mother is fundamental to the development of the child’s pro-social behavior and promotion of empathic concern in the child in particular.
