There are several natural gas reserves in Greece which have an estimated 1.982 billion cu m of natural gas. The production rate of natural gas from these reserves is at 9 million cu m per year. The annual consumption of the same is at 3.528 billion cu m, which is way above the production level. This has made the Greek government to include the importation of 3.556 billion cu m of natural gas to take care of the deficit.
