Cognitive behavior therapy initially used in the treatment of individuals with mood and anxiety disorders has been introduced in the recent years to help with the treatment of schizophrenia patients. CBT has been gradually endorsed to target one of the core symptoms of schizophrenia which has been resistant to treatment with medication alone. This intervention has also been employed to address other symptoms of schizophrenia like comorbid mood and anxiety disorders.
