Relatively, the diabetes risk level is higher in women as compared to that of men because they do not engage them selves to a specific and organized life-style. As a result, they end up neglecting their health to levels where they hardly notice when something is wrong with their health system. .Subsequently, if gender roles were equal then women would have better health than men that would be more consistent with their life expectancy level (Bird & Fremont, 1991).
