Write a weekly reflective summary discussing the importance of what you have learned from this week's readings or searches on the Internet. In addition, discuss how this knowledge will be useful to you in this week's debate arguments or the final project as well as a practicing public administrator.

Select at least three topics from this week's readings and discuss how they can be applied to your final project. In addition, research for appropriate resources that will be required to complete this week's final project and provide quantifiable proof of their validity and usefulness in completing the final project.

In your reflective summary, include the following details as well:

  • List some Web sites and other sources that you found useful in obtaining information on the United States and state judicial system. Who are some of the key players in your local area that you might interact with in some manner in the future as a public administrator?
  • Have any recent or past Supreme Court decisions made a significant impact on your local area or the issue you are addressing in the final project?
  • Identify your local Congressmen from both the House of Representatives and the Senate and find out what committees they serve. What are some of the areas that these committees work on? How influential are your members of Congress on these committees? Have any of them passed or introduced recent bills that affect your final project issue?

The information you incorporate in your weekly summary may include material as it relates to the three domains of learning: cognitive, affective, and conative.

Cognitive learning relates to the action or process of knowing. In other words, what did you learn about public administration this week that you did not already know? Note the relationship between what you have learned in the previous week and this week. Are there any themes emerging in addition to the politics-administration dichotomy?

Affective learning relates to how you felt about your learning. In other words, what were your feelings about this week's content and workload? Has this changed from last week and how?

Conative learning relates to volition, will, level of effort, intention, and approaches to problem solving. In other words, what did you do with regard to enhancing your learning this week? Is there anything from this week or the previous week that you should add to this week’s final project activity?
