8.The changing boundaries (who is included, who isn’t) and meanings of American citizenship and belonging during the 20th and early 21st centuries. How have the definitions and obligations of citizenship changed over time? How have popular American values changed (or not) regarding the boundaries of citizenship? Is the story of American citizenship one of steady progress, regression (moving backward), or some combination of the two? Explain.
