Hi there, I am wondering about how to draw and label the components of an electrochemical cell for this question.
Hi there, I am wondering about how to draw and label the components of an electrochemical cell for this question.
One half cell consists of a tin rod dipping into a solution of tin (II) ions (Sn2+) and the other half cell is a platinum wire in a solution containing a mixture of fe2+ ions and fe3+ ions.
The standard electrode potentials, at 298K, for the two redox reactions involved are:
Sn2+(aq) + 2e -> Sn(s) Eo= -0.14V
Fe3+(aq) + e -> Fe2+(aq) Eo= 0.77v
