Step 1. Carry out a thought journey first by considering the question below for 2-3 minutes.

Question: What is Curriculum?

1. Who is asking? 2. Why do they want to know? 3. What will they use the answer for?

Step 2. Now record your answers to the three questions above in no more than a short paragraph of three sentences(A).

Step 3. Repeat this exercise with a different question as below for 2-3 minutes.

Question: “What is a forest?”

4. Who is asking?  [A lion, hunter, geologist, chemist, environmentalist, a builder, or other? (Pick one) Consider the audience for the answer too.

5. Why do they want to know?

6. What will they do with the answer?

Step 4. Now record your answers to the three questions in no more than a short paragraph of three sentences(B).

Step 5. Compare your A and B responses.

7. What deductions/propositions can you make about curriculum based on your answers to Qus. 1 and 4 (Who is involved) Qus. 2 and 5 (Goals of Curriculum, theories) Qus. 3 and 6 (Curriculum implementation, development, accountability).
