Respond to the post 200 words and 1APA cite not over 3 years old.

Cunningham and Cordeiro (2013) discuss the nature and purpose of leadership and management within an educational environment and characterize leadership as the process of “giving an organization direction and purpose” (pg. 139). Therefore, in an educational environment, educational leaders such as the school district’s superintendent, must work to define the goals and objectives of the school district so each principal and faculty member of each school in the district can work towards those objectives and have full knowledge of how to demonstrate the activities they must engage in to meet those objectives.

Promoting and training others in an organization to develop leadership skills can be accomplished through numerous approaches. In their research article, Hoekstra and Newton (2017) found that transformational leadership practices in which emphasis is made on team work, forming collegial networks, eliciting constructive feedback and constant reflection on teaching practices, plays an important role in modern leadership in the K-12 educational learning environment.

Other ways to influence the formation of leadership behavior and the development of leadership skills include encouraging actions and behaviors which work towards the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAP) three main objectives of (1) high expectations (2) knowledge of subject matter (3) meeting the standards of the profession (FL Department of Education, 2019).

Positive leadership behaviors in education can be seen in actions such as: positive instructor networking in the field, instructor professional development in pedagogy and course subject matter, encouraging instructors to be part of the educational program’s curriculum development and encouraging overall course improvement through end of course feedback and surveys from students (Hoekstra & Newton, 2017).
