There is a longstanding belief that war can stimulate economic growth.

Consider the following when crafting your response:

1. If war or conflict actually gets a country out of poverty, why not create a state of constant global war to generate constant global prosperity? (Hint: see how illogical this argument is?)

2. By that same logic, would not destroying your possessions make you wealthier each time you destroy them?

3.  Why would some countries (or their leaders) prefer conflict or benefit from conflict?

4.  How do longstanding cultural rivalries between groups in a country, particularly in the developing world, cultivate conflict?
