David Conover, Director of the Marine Sciences Research Center at Stony Brook University, has been conducting experiments on the selective pressure that fishing puts on the Atlantic Silverside.  In a population of fish where the largest individuals were removed every generation, he observed that after 6 generations the fish were only 55% of the size of the control group.  What does this indicate about process of natural selection?  What impact do human beings have on selective processes?  What does this indicate about potential policy changes in fisheries management?
